According to legend, the lake owes its deep blue color to the tears of a blue-eyed maiden who came here every night to mourn the death of her beloved. One morning, she was found dead in the lake, and its water forever took on the color of her eyes. In memory of this legend, a sculpture of the maiden has been placed at the bottom of the lake.
