Full Tour Description
Your journey begins as your private driver collects you from Zurich, heading south toward one of Switzerland’s most beloved cities — Lucerne. The drive takes you through the heart of Central Switzerland, where lakes shimmer beneath rolling hills and distant snow peaks mark the horizon.
Your first stop is Lucerne, a city that feels like a perfect postcard. Walk across the Chapel Bridge (Kapellbrücke), built in 1333 and lined with colorful paintings under its wooden beams. Stroll through the Old Town, with its painted façades and elegant squares, and visit the Lion Monument, one of the most moving sculptures in Europe. If time allows, embark on a 1-hour boat cruise on Lake Lucerne — a serene experience surrounded by the peaks of Rigi, Pilatus, and Stanserhorn reflected in the still water.
After Lucerne, the route continues deeper into the Alps toward the village of Engelberg, nestled in a high valley beneath Mount Titlis. The drive itself is spectacular — winding through green meadows, wooden farmhouses, and the rising shadows of glacier-covered summits.
At the base station in Engelberg, board the Titlis Xpress cable car, which carries you first to Trübsee and then to the Stand mid-station. From there, the TITLIS Rotair — the world’s first rotating gondola — completes the ascent to Mount Titlis (3,238 m), turning 360° for uninterrupted views of the Alps.
At the top, a world of snow and ice awaits. You can step into the Glacier Cave, a glowing blue tunnel carved through 5,000-year-old ice; walk the Cliff Walk, Europe’s highest suspension bridge, hanging above a 500-meter drop; or take the Ice Flyer chairlift for a short glide over the glacier surface. Whether you’re exploring, taking photos, or simply breathing in the pure alpine air, the experience is unforgettable.
After descending to Engelberg, enjoy a short stroll through the village or a warm drink before beginning the return to Zurich. The drive back passes lakes, forests, and open countryside — a perfect, peaceful ending to a day that takes you from medieval streets to the top of the world.
