Geography and Dimensions
The Matterhorn is a freestanding, pyramidal peak whose four faces are oriented towards the four cardinal directions. It is located in the Pennine Alps on the border between Switzerland and Italy. It is one of the highest peaks in the Alps and Europe.

1. Matterhorn Glacier Paradise (Klein Matterhorn)
Europe's highest cable car station (3,883 m) offers a 360-degree panorama of 38 four-thousanders and 14 glaciers. Visit the Glacier Palace, the cinema lounge, and enjoy year-round skiing.

2. Gornergrat

3. Lake Riffelsee
This small mountain lake is famous for the perfect reflection of the Matterhorn in its calm waters. It is a short walk from the Rotenboden station on the Gornergrat line. The best time for photos is in the morning.

4. The 5-Lakes Hike (5-Seenweg)

How to Get Around
Zermatt is a car-free village.
•Access: Zermatt is only accessible by train. Private cars must be left in Täsch, 5 km from Zermatt.
•In Zermatt: Getting around is on foot, by electric taxi, or by bus.

Visitor Tips
