Full Tour Description
Depart from Lucerne in the morning and travel through central Switzerland’s rolling hills toward the Bernese Alps. Your first stop, Lake Lungern, offers postcard-perfect reflections of forested peaks and blue skies — a serene start to the day.
The route continues toward Brienz, known for its woodcarving heritage and lakeside promenade. The drive from Brienz to Interlaken follows a panoramic stretch of road hugging Lake Brienz, offering some of the most photographed views in the region.
After a relaxed hour in Interlaken, exploring its parks, cafés and views of the Jungfrau range, you’ll continue west along Lake Thun. This road unfolds like a movie — tunnels through cliffs, turquoise water below and snow peaks beyond.
The first major stop is Sigriswil, home to the 340 m–long suspension bridge that floats 180 m above the valley. The view from here captures the full beauty of Lake Thun, with the Beatus Caves cliffs on one side and the Alps on the other.
A short drive leads to Thun, a picturesque medieval town with a riverside promenade and the striking Thun Castle towering above. After exploring the old town for a while, the journey continues to Spiez, where Schloss Spiez stands proudly above the vineyards — an ideal photo stop and quick break before the next valley road.
Soon, you’ll reach Blausee, hidden in a forest in the Kander Valley. Its name means “Blue Lake,” and you’ll see why — its glass-like, vivid blue water is among the purest in the Alps. Here you can take a peaceful walk or enjoy lunch by the lake.
The return to Lucerne includes a final tranquil stop in Iseltwald, where time seems to stand still. The wooden pier and the reflection of the mountains in Lake Brienz mark a poetic end to your alpine day.
By the time you return to Lucerne, you’ll have crossed four lakes, three valleys and countless unforgettable views — a complete journey through Switzerland’s natural harmony.
